Let it ride is a popular poker-style online casino game. It is a variation of 5-card Stud Poker, but in this game the player doesn’t have to beat other players or a dealer's hand. The goal of the game is to get a winning poker hand, with at least a pair of tens.
The goal of Let It Ride
The objective of Let It Ride is to compile the highest 5-card hand (with a minimum a pair of tens) from two community cards and three dealt cards while keeping the maximum bet on the table.
Betting
The game begins when the player places three equal bets on the betting circles. Then the dealer puts two community cards, face down, in the center of the table and the player is dealt three cards. The player has the option to withdraw the first bet or "Let it Ride" and leave it on the table. After that the dealer turns the first community card face up. At this point the player decides whether to withdraw the second bet or "let it ride". Then the second community card is turned face up and the hand is scored. Notice that there is no withdraw option for the third bet - it stays on the table anyway. Also, it doesn't matter what the player did with the first bet when he is withdrawing the second bet.
True Odds and Payoff
If the player qualifies with a minimum of a pair of tens, the payoff is determined by the quality of the hand. The skilled player knows when to withdraw and when to stay based on the cards known.
| Hand | Payoff | True Odds |
| Royal Flush | 1000:1 | 649350:1 |
| Straight Flush | 200:1 | 72220:1 |
| Four of a kind | 50:1 | 4165:1 |
| Full House | 11:1 | 694:1 |
| Flush | 8:1 | 509:1 |
| Straight | 5:1 | 255:1 |
| Three of a kind | 3:1 | 47:1 |
| Two Pair | 2:1 | 21:1 |
| Winning Pair | 1:1 | 6:1 |
The rules of Let It Ride are a little bit better for the player than in Caribbean Stud Poke. However, even with optimal play there's a three point edge for the house.
