American business magnate and owner of three eponymous casinos Donald Trump gave his opinion on the Barney Frank bill which will regulate online casino in the United States. He said that the bill is a very good idea and will help making online gaming benefit the public good.
On the other hand, several operators of land-based casinos led by Steve Wynn of Wynn resorts are still opposed to allowing the residents of the United States to gamble online. Most of them are sure that the legalization of online casinos will make them lose their customers.
However, Donald Trump claims that online casinos with proper management have "nothing to fear" because the competition can't be blocked and will only make the industry stronger.
According to New York Post, Trump said: "Online gaming is going to happen, so we might as well have it work to the public's advantage. Why lose all those billions of revenue?"
Land based and tribal casinos are trying very hard to get protected and claim that supporters of online casinos are being funded by overseas gambling companies. In sober fact, the owners of land based casinos are trying to preserve their near-monopolies and steady flow of income.
